Cookie Policy

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which types we use on FortisX websites and services, and how you can control them using your browser. By using our sites and services, you agree that we may store and access cookies as described below, in accordance with applicable law.

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve performance, remember preferences, and provide aggregated usage analytics. Some cookies are removed when you close your browser ("session cookies"), others remain for a period of time ("persistent cookies").

3. Types of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary
    Required for the site to function and to deliver requested features (e.g., secure connection, page navigation, CSRF protection, basic account flows). These cookies cannot be switched off in our systems.

  • Preferences
    Remember basic choices such as language or interface settings so you do not need to re-configure them on every visit.

  • Analytics
    Help us understand how the site is used in aggregate (e.g., pages visited, performance, error rates) so we can improve reliability and user experience. We use summarized metrics and do not build profiles for advertising or sell this information to third parties.

We do not use cookies for interest-based advertising or to track your activity across third-party websites for marketing purposes.

4. Examples and retention

  • session_id - keeps your session during a visit; session.

  • csrf_token - protects forms and API calls from cross-site request forgery; session.

  • locale - remembers language or locale preference; up to 12 months.

  • analytics_* - aggregated performance and usage metrics; up to 13 months.

Exact cookie names may vary by environment (for example, production versus testing). Persistent cookie lifetimes are minimized and renewed only when needed for the same purpose.

5. How to control cookies (no in-site manager)

We do not currently provide an on-site cookie preferences manager. You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • block all cookies or only third-party cookies;
  • clear existing cookies;
  • set site-specific permissions.

Disabling certain cookies, especially strictly necessary ones, may impact core functionality (e.g., login, security features, or remembering that you are signed in).

6. Legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interests to use strictly necessary cookies in order to operate the site securely and provide the services you request.

For analytics and preference cookies, where required by applicable law, we rely on your consent. You may give or withdraw your consent at any time through your browser settings by blocking or deleting cookies associated with our services.

7. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date below. In some cases, we may also provide additional notice (for example, via a banner on the site).
